With this job we had instructions to create a nice smooth finish at the front and a rough, rusty look on the side of house and the back. We achieved this by using a 1 coat rendering for the front and 2 coats rendering for the back and sides.
One coat rendering
The nice and smooth finish you can see on the pictures of the front is achieved by using one coat system. It means we apply a thick coats which we then screed and finish with a float.
Two coat rendering
We achieved a rusty look for the side and the back of the house by using one thick coat of skim. We finished with a sponge for bag giving us the rusty look for the back and sides.
Why render on top of brick?
- Change from old look to new modern look
- You feel like you have a different house
- Improves market value of building
- Paint the finish in any color you like
- Building will stand for many more years
- Repels water as opposed to timber
The testimonial
Thank you to Charlie and Sons for such a fantastic job done rendering our home.
They were always on time, their work was done professionally, they were focused on attention to detail and went out of their way to ensure we were happy.
We were very impressed how cleanly they worked and how tidy everything was left afterwards.
Thanks again to Charlie and Sons for a home that now looks modern and classy.
Kind Regards
Sally
